ABOUT ALL OUT FILMS
Production CrewA filmmaker, event producer and entrepreneur, Andrea Meyerson has built her life around creating a fun, diverse and nurturing social network for the LGBT community. Borne out of Meyerson's initial idea 13 years ago to create Women On A Roll, a cycling group for Los Angeles area lesbians, she's since launched her event production company StandOut Productions and All Out Films, with all three companies working in concert to provide quality events and entertainment for the LGBT community.

It began in 1995 when, Meyerson, a Southern California native, realizing a void in social opportunities available to lesbians, launched Women On A Roll. From its inauspicious beginnings as a cycling group, Women On A Roll blossomed into one of the most recognizable and active lesbian social organizations in the country, offering a wide range of social, cultural and travel opportunities for women.

Women On A Roll began to catch on and in the second year, Meyerson traded in her 16-year corporate career to concentrate on affording more social opportunities within the community. To facilitate her vision, Meyerson kicked off StandOut Productions in 1997, an event production company aimed at fundraising for LGBT non-profits, including the LA Gay and Lesbian Center, Human Rights Campaign, National Center for Lesbian Rights and Outfest: LA Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. While maintaining StandOut Productions fundraising mission Meyerson expanded the company and began producing concerts integral to the LGBT community. Her live shows have featured Joan Armatrading, Roseanne Barr, the late Nell Carter, Kate Clinton, Sophie B. Hawkins, Janis Ian, Indigo Girls, Cris Williamson and Suzanne Westenhoefer, among others.

Now a recognizable name on the LGBT film circuit, Meyerson began All Out Films in 2002, producing and directing her award winning film, Laughing Matters (2003), in which she paid homage to the pioneering out lesbian comics. The film was initially acquired by Here TV and distributed by Wolfe Video. Her successful series, including Laughing Matters... More! (2006), and Laughing Matters... the Men (2007) currently air regularly on MTV's Logo Network. Now an ardent documentarian of LGBT comedy, Meyerson's comedy specials featuring solo performances of Kate Clinton, Suzanne Westenhoefer, Vickie Shaw, Karen Williams are staples among Logo's regular programs.

A tireless advocate for the LGBT community and for women, Meyerson received the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's L.A.C.E. (Lesbians Active in Community Empowerment) Award in 2002. PowerUp honored her as one of the Ten Amazing Women in Showbiz 2004. She received the WIN Outstanding Women Award from the Women's Image Network in 2006 and was also named a finalist for PlanetOut's Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2006. Meyerson made history in 2007 when she became the first out lesbian to receive the YWCA's Women of Achievement Award. In March 2008, HRC presented Meyerson with the Local Hero Award.

Meyerson's current projects include, Laughing Matters…Next Gen, featuring the freshest faces on the LGBT comedy circuit and I Stand Corrected, about the life of renowned jazz bassist John Leitham, who disappeared one day and resurfaced as Jennifer Leitham. She recently launched All Access Pass, a video blog for afterellen.com giving viewers an up close and personal look at women in the entertainment business.

Continually seeking to contribute to the community and to build new and exciting social outlets for women, Meyerson's currently launching a women's weekend in stunning Cambria, California for October 2008, an event geared toward becoming one of the country's premiere women's destination weekends.

“By the end of ‘Laughing Matters... More!’ these four women will feel like old friends. You’ll have a good idea of who they are and what they do in their act, and you’ll want...more!” — Steve Warren, Dallas Voice
